I guess this one doesn’t really count as a step, it’s more just for your information.

It’s very important that you know that I take your referrals VERY SERIOUSLY. In my own life, I am so careful when I make recommendations to the people that I know and love because I feel that if I refer them to someone else, and they let them down - that I have also let them down.
